Senior associate, Investment Consulting, Infrastructure Investments Team We are now working with a leading investment consulting firm based in London They are looking to recruit a senior associate into their team. The overall aim of the role will be to advise clients on investments into infrastructure private equity and asset management firms. The Role There are many facets to the role. The primary focus of the incoming consultant’s work will be to assist and add value to clients through the manager ‘search and selection process’. As part of this work, the consultant will be required to help clients in understanding their investment objectives and constraints and evaluating fund managers against these. The results of the team’s advice will be a set of specific options and recommendations for the client, designed to enhance the long-term investment performance of clients' portfolios. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to): Maintaining relationships with fund managers; Conducting analytical processes as it relates to searches and other advisory work on private markets Researching and evaluating potential investments into funds, separate accounts, club deals and potentially direct investments Advising clients on customized investment solutions in private markets Contributing to the Private Markets team’s efforts in business development and client acquisition, in collaboration with Relationship Managers. Raising the profile of Private Markets team in particular through Research papers/notes, conference presentations, social media and engagement with the Press. The level of autonomy and project leadership given to the candidate will depend on his/her level of seniority and number of years of experience in the industry. Skills and experience Industry experience in private markets ideally gained in Infrastructure investing activities (either as a principal or as an advisor), with experience across private asset classes also being desirable. Experience of analysing, underwriting and investing in assets or private funds, of working at a private fund, or experience at a principal investor. Experience of the fund management industry gained within the asset owner / manager / adviser space would be useful. Degree in relevant subject (ranging from finance and economics through to mathematics and engineering). Intellectually curious in terms of private markets and how they can impact a client’s portfolio True team player who can adapt and excel in a fast-paced working environment Numerate, with good analysis skills
